15 Step How to Flashing Your Android Device

Flashing your android phone means loading/installing a custom made ROM on your android device.
What are Custom Made ROM’s?
Custom made ROM’s are developed by individuals or group of individuals. They are not built from scratch but contain major tweaks that could boost your systems performance, battery life and enhance various other capabilities of your android device.

Prerequisites
  1. The android device which you are about to flash must be rooted. If you haven’t rooted your device yet don’t worry, just refer to my previous article Android Rooted.
  2. Create a backup of all your data (contacts/calendar etc.) which is both in the phone memory and on the SD card. As all the data is going to get deleted.
So let’s get started…..
Downloading the ROM
You need to download a ROM which you want to flash onto your device first. XDA developers is the hub where all such developments take place. XDA is a giant community which does this work. Just search and browse through all the available ROM’s and select the best one which suits your device XDA-developers website.
After downloading the ROM store it in the root directory of your phone’s SD Card.
The ROM’s come in zip folders, DO NOT unzip them, store them as it is.
THE FLASHING PROCEDURE…
  1. Download ROM Manager from the Google Play Store and install it on your android device. Grant it the SUPER USER permission when it asks for.
